Analyzing your market against industry benchmarks…

How the plan is built.

You answer a short set of questions: what the business does, whether you sell to consumers or businesses, whether it is a service or a product, where your customers are and where you are based, current annual revenue and expenses, the average value of one customer, the revenue target and the date you want to reach it by. The planner sends those answers to a language model together with a fixed set of published benchmarks and asks for a budget and channel mix for that business type and market, not a generic template.

The benchmarks it reasons from are the Gartner CMO Spend Survey and The CMO Survey (marketing spend as a share of revenue by sector), U.S. Small Business Administration guidance on small-business marketing budgets, WordStream's search advertising benchmarks (cost per click, click-through and conversion rates by industry) and First Page Sage's customer acquisition cost data by channel. The model is told to cite only those sources and never to invent a statistic.

What you get back: a recommended monthly budget with a low and high range and the share of revenue it represents; how many new customers the target implies; a split across four to six channels with a one-line rationale each (search, local SEO and Google Business Profile, Meta, LinkedIn, SEO and content, email, depending on the business); the single channel to start with and why; two or three paragraphs of reasoning that reference the benchmarks; and a frank sentence on whether the revenue target is realistic in the period.

It is an estimate built from industry averages, not a forecast for your business. Treat the numbers as a starting point for the conversation, and if you want a plan tied to your actual funnel data, book a free 30-minute automation review.
